A premium seafood brand had built its reputation on cedar-planked grilling, but needed content to launch a new line of air-fryer-ready bagged meals. This was a significant category shift for a brand associated with weekend grilling, not weeknight convenience. The challenge was to translate their existing “wood-fired, gourmet” brand equity into a fast-weeknight format without making it feel like a downgrade. The product line featured salmon and broccoli, salmon bites, and a fish and chips option. All designed to go from freezer to fork in under 20 minutes.

The Approach
The visual strategy centered on elevating the plated result rather than the packaging. The risk with any frozen-meal campaign is that the product photography undercuts the “gourmet” claim before the copy can make the case. We shot the finished salmon on proper dinnerware with fresh accompaniments (white rice, green napkins, clean flatware) to position it as a restaurant-quality plate that happened to start in the freezer, not a microwaved tray meal.

We also shot the full product line, all three air fryer meal varieties together on a clean marble surface, giving the brand a lineup shot they could use for retail, web, and social without scheduling a separate product-only session. The individual bags were styled upright and label-forward, consistent with how they’d appear on the shelf.
Process photography covered the air fryer basket with the salmon cooking, the flake test (fork pulling apart the finished fillet), and the pour-in-from-bag step that demonstrates the product’s zero-prep promise. This sequence is particularly useful for a product that requires re-educating a buyer on cooking method, showing the steps builds confidence in the purchase before the reader even tries it.
The Results
The post was published on Sizzling Eats and gave Cedar Bay Grilling Company editorial placement with a publisher audience that overlaps directly with their target buyer: home cooks who want quality meals on weeknights without the prep time. The plated photography successfully bridged the brand’s gourmet positioning and the product’s convenience format, the two things that are hardest to hold together in frozen-food content.
